As we start to enter the long cold months of winter Greg and I sit in the Camp Office longingly wishing it were summertime again!  We are so lucky that in Dutchess County we have such a unique camp experience to offer the area and WE MISS IT!!!!!  Greg and I sat and wrote down the top 10 things that we miss about Camp Hillcroftand here they are!!!!  

10 - the weather...hot sunny days and our very own Mr Mister having to make an appearance and spray happy campers and staff

9 - the pools..and watching all our campers learn to swim with our amazing Red Cross Swim Program and phenomenal Swim Instructors

8 - Our 8:15am Staff Meetings...seriously..we enjoy those meetings!  The buzz and excitement for the day ahead is a great start to our Hillcroft day!

7 - Climbing the hill...yes we do miss the hill.....nothing beats the feeling of walking up the Hillcroft hill, passing all the program areas on the way and seeing happy campers involved in so many wonderful programs!

6 - Singing Happy Birthday CHA CHA CHA in the Camp Dining room

5 - Arrival......seeing the cars pull in and happy excited campers sitting in the back..

4 - Dismissal...seeing those happy campers get back into their cars....happy....smiling....sweaty...dirty....and again HAPPY!!

3 - Overnights and Cookouts..having campers here 24/7 is a good time!

2 - Our very special Hillcroft Staff  - they truly are a unique blend of individuals who dedicate their summers to the enjoyment of children at camp.  Not only are they are staff..they are our friends...they are our Hillcroft Family!

1 - OF COURSE the top thing that we miss about summer is .......CAMPERS!!!!!!!

We truly do miss all those smiling faces..calling out our names as we walk around camp..excitedly showing us dance routines or art projects they have made.  Our campers make us realize that all that we do is so worth it.  We are creating an environment where children feel good about themselves and they flourish and grow...it doesn't get much better than that!!!!!!!   ROLL ON SUMMER 2015!!!!!
